From a hygienic point of view, pads are the preferred means of collecting blood during menstruation. Gynecologists recommend choosing pads with a cotton surface, odorless, as they do not cause allergies and irritation of the mucous membranes.
Their correct use eliminates the possibility of infection, blood flow into the uterine cavity, damage to the walls of the vagina. But how to put on a pad so as not to stain clothes and maintain maximum comfort when wearing?
How to put a pad on underwear
Properly putting on a pad depends on its thickness, shape and presence of wings. Let's take a closer look at the algorithm of actions:
- Take a comfortable position. If you're changing your pad while you're on your period, you can do it while you're wearing underwear.
- Open the gasket package, but do not rush to throw it away. You can use it as a pouch to dispose of your used hygiene products (by wrapping it in a straw).
Important: Like all hygiene products, pads are not thrown into the toilet. That's what the trash can is for. Otherwise, it will float up and open or clog the pipe.
- Unfold the gasket, wings. At the same time, try not to touch the soft surface with your hands, so as not to get dirty. It is better to hold it by one edge and peel it away from you.
- Remove the adhesive sheet from the inner parts by holding the top edge.
- Glue the padding to the inside of the panties and fold the wings under the bottom of the fabric. Can be applied to laundry and remove the adhesive sheet at the same time. This will help keep the inside of the pad clean.
- Seal the wings firmly, butt to joint, to prevent the hygiene product from moving.
Sticking has its own characteristics:
- In the presence of wings, the placement of the gasket is regulated by the position of the body. If you plan to spend the day on your feet or doing sports (yoga, light exercises), then the pad is glued closer to the front of the panties. At night, it is better to place it closer to the back.
- Panty liners, without wings, can be placed in the middle. They are softer and easily take the desired shape when changing position. This eliminates the possibility of leakage.
There are pads for pregnant women, the elderly. They have the form of panties or a standard shape for the size. They are glued in the same way as menstrual ones, located in the middle. The wings of such pads are glued to each other due to their large size.
